Malaysia Recognizes the Status of China As a Full Market Economy

On May 29, 2004, China and Malaysia issued a joint communiqué, in which Malaysia declared that it recognizes the status of China as a full market economy. Both sides expressed hopes to make full use of the comparative advantages of the two economies to consolidate and deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
